This course is designed to train seafarers in complying with emergency procedures, preventing pollution of the marine environment, observing safe work practices, fostering clear and effective communications aboard the ship, and maintaining good working relationships.

This online course is based on an 4 hour in-person course.

Any applicant who successfully completes your Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (On-Line) (NOREMI-817) course will satisfy the Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities competency and training requirements of Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-4 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010, and 46 CFR 11.302(a)(4) and 12.602(a)(4); AND have performed all assessment tasks as guided by the applicable section within the Basic Training NVIC 08-14. Applicants are not required to present completed record of assessment sheets when applying for the STCW endorsement.

Any applicant who successfully completes your Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (On-Line) course will satisfy the Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities competency and training requirements of Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-4 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010.

Assessments
Written Examination
This course consists of one written exam: Personal Safety & Social Responsibility. The exam contains 10 questions and requires a 70% passing score. The written exam can be taken online through HALO° Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $25.00.
