The course objective is to provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code, and Section A-VI/6 of the STCW Code, as amended.

This online course is based on an 8 hour in-person course.

Any applicant who has successfully completed your Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties (VPDSD) (On-Line) (NOREMI-780) course will satisfy the training requirements of 46 CFR 12.625(a)(1) and STCW Table A-VI/6-2 for an STCW endorsement as Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties.

Assessments
Written Examination
This course consists of one written exam: Vessel Personnel with Designated Security Duties. This exam contains 20 questions and requires a 70% passing score. The written exam can be taken online through HALO° Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $25.00.
