Northeast Maritime Institute is an approved designated examiner for the FCC Ship Radar Endorsement exam. The FCC requires completion of the Element 8 exam for issuance of the endorsement.
The FCC radar endorsement can only be added to the following:
- PG – General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL)
- DM – GMDSS Radio Maintainer’s License
- DB – GMDSS Radio Operator/Maintainer License
The FCC radar endorsement cannot be added to the following:
- MP – Marine Radio Operator Permit
- DO – GMDSS Radio Operator’s License.
