This online course is based upon a 24 hour in-person course and covers the material and practical assessments required by STCW Regulation A-VI/3.
Learning Objectives
This course identifies and explains various topics including:
- Control firefighting operations aboard ships
- Organize and train fire parties.
- Inspect and service fire detection and extinguishing systems and equipment.
- Investigate and compile reports on incidents involving fire.

This course satisfies the Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010, 46 CFR 11.201(h), and 11.303(a). This course satisfies the Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, as amended 2010.
Assessments
Written Examination
This course consists of one written exam – Advanced Fire Fighting. This exam contains 18 questions and requires a 70% passing score. The written exam can be taken online through HALO° Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $50.00.
