SSEB Screening Requirements
Verify MMLD Set to “Y” for SSEB Screening (Requirement for Great Lakes / Inland Only)

Minimum Age Required
19 Years

Medical Certificate Requirements

  • Original – Must hold or be approved for Medical Certificate.
  • Renewal, ROG, New Endorsement – Must hold an unexpired Medical Certificate or submit a Medical Certificate application

Drug Testing Requirements
Must be Drug Testing Compliant. 10.225/10.231 Mariner Fees must be paid

Mariner Fees must be paid

Endorsement Requirements
Mariners holding an endorsement that authorizes service as a mate on an inspected vessel of 200 GRT or more are qualified to be issued Master 100 for the same route without additional service or examination. This includes the holders of C/M, 2nd Mate, 3rd Mate, Mate LT 1,600 GRT, Mate LT 500 GRT, C/M OSV, Mate OSV and Mate T/V.

  • Raise of Grade $95 evaluation fee and $45 issuance fee still required.
  • Master 100 GRT will not be issued for oceans, only NC.
  • COLREGS restriction will carry over to Master 100 (for Great Lakes / Inland)
  • Trade restrictions of OSV and T/V will not be endorsed.
