The Cargo Handling & Stowage (Blended) course satisfies the Cargo Handling and Stowage training requirements for an STCW endorsement as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 or more gross tonnage (ITC) – A-II/1; AND Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels less than 500 GT – A-II/1; AND Masters and OICNW on Vessels of less than 500 GT limited to Near Coastal waters (A-II/3).
The course covers the following subject matter:
- Effects of cargo on draught, trim and stability
- Safe handling, stowage and securing of cargoes
- Cargo calculations
- Inspecting cargoes and reporting deficiencies
- Enhanced survey program
- Enclosed space entry
Assessments:
- The written exam(s) can be taken online through HALO° Exams. You will receive 3 attempts for your exam. If you fail all 3 attempts, you must pay a retake fee of $50.00.
This fully online course can be taken at your own pace. Recommended equipment outside of any required materials identified in the course: computer and web camera.
